Things to see and do:

  • Beaches
    Whether you're after a swim, surf lesson, a paddle in the shallows, walk along the sand or sunbake, our clean and beautiful beaches are perfect for the whole family.
  • Lorne Sea Baths
    Located beachside, the Lorne Sea Baths are a perfect family day out. Fun facilities include gym, swimming pool, mini golf, trampolines, bumper boats and aqua orbs.
  • Great Ocean Road
    One of the most beautiful scenic routes in the world. Hop out of your car and at the various lookouts along the way and marvel at the beautifil coastline of the Great Ocean Road.
  • Erksine Falls
    A short 10 minute drive from our caravan park, Erskine Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in the Otways. Take in the view from either of the two lookouts as Erskine Falls plunges 30 metres into the lush tree-fern gully of the Erskine River.
  • Shopping
    We are only a short walk from Lorne's main shopping promenade which includes everything from boutique lines, to surf shops, to ice-creameries.
  • Fishing
    Fishing is available everywhere. You can even throw a rod in the Erskine River from the fishing platforms within our park. There is bream in the river, salmon off the pier or snapper from the rocks. There is even a chance of trout in some of the upper creeks and rivers - the list is endless.
  • Restaurants
    You will find an abundance of cafes and restaurants in town, most with views accross to Lorne's main beach. Many offer regional wines and local produce as well as seafood straight off the boat. Sip on a cold beer at the local pub, or on the pier where you can watch the fishing fleet unload its catch. Visit the local fishing co-op where you can buy fresh locally caught seafood.
  • Walks
    Enjoy one of the many great walks and discover lush cool fern gullies or explore dry coastal heathlands. Try the great walk from Lorne Surf Club to Lorne Pier.
  • Teddy's Lookout
    Take a walk or drive up to Queens Park and enjoy fantastic views from Teddy's Lookout. It's a must.
  • Cumberland River
    At Cumberland River, a few kilometres south of the town, the scenery is picturesque, with dense bush, a rugged cliff face beside the river, and an idyllic grassed camping and picnicking area.  
  • Fitness events
    Fitness fanatics and lovers of the outdoors flock to the many endurance events held in Lorne each year. The Pier to Pub Swim and the Mountain to Surf Run are both held in January and attract large numbers of competitors. The Great Ocean Road Marathon kicks off in May and the Anaconda Adventure Race in December is a popular way to get the blood pumping. For those who prefer to get their thrills from the raw energy of rock music, The Falls Festival, held every New Year’s Eve, is an essential experience.  
  • Lorne Historical Society
    Browse the treasures and priceless photographs on display at the Lorne Historical Society, open on the 1st Sunday of each month 1.00pm - 4.00pm.
